For a Christmas party venue in Bournemouth in the middle of the festive season, the Alpine Lodge in Bournemouth Square takes office and team parties from tables of 6 to 10 up to private hire for 50 to 100 guests, according to the organisers' parties page. Groups of more than 100 are by discussion. The lodge opens with Christmas in Bournemouth on 12 November 2026.

It is the two-storey bar at the heart of Bournemouth Christmas Market, run by Alpine Christmas Markets. Our Alpine Lodge guide covers the bar for an ordinary visit; this piece is for whoever has been asked to organise the office party.

What sizes of party does it take?

The organisers set out three tiers:

  • Tables for 6 to 10 people, suited to a team or a department
  • Private hire for 50 to 100 people, for a whole office
  • More than 100, by discussion with the organisers

Outside the lodge are converted ski gondolas used as private booths, and the lodge also lists booths, tables and the Après Hütte for booking. For a small team, a gondola or a booth may be enough.

What can a party include?

The organisers list these as party options:

  • photo booths
  • private space
  • steins and mulled wine
  • beer towers
  • a stocked Alpine bar
  • a souvenir market mug
  • food from the market traders
  • "guaranteed snowfall"

They are presented as options, not a fixed package. Prices, minimum spends and what comes with each booking are not in what we have read, so ask the organisers for a quote.

What is the atmosphere like?

Downstairs is a Christmas bar with steins, festive cocktails and mulled wine. Upstairs, the Après Bar has DJs every Friday and Saturday, plus quiz nights, karaoke, bingo and live music, mirrorballs, booth seating and a balcony over the market and the Festive Trail. For a party that wants a quieter table and a talk, a weekday is the better choice; for dancing, a Friday or Saturday.

Artificial snow falls from the lodge balcony at set times, the organisers say: Monday to Thursday at 5pm, Friday to Sunday at 2pm, 5pm and 7pm.

Hours to plan around

The lodge page lists 11am to 11pm Sunday to Thursday and 11am to midnight on Friday and Saturday, while the FAQ says 11am to 11pm daily. Confirm the finishing time with the organisers when you book. The market around the lodge is cashless, card and contactless only, and the market stalls close on 31 December.

Before and after

The lodge sits in the Square, at the top of the Lower Gardens, so a group can walk the free Festive Trail or book the rink before the party. The Bournemouth Guide's Christmas guide and its where locals eat cover restaurants nearby for a sit-down meal first. Our market guide has the stalls and food hours.

Staff travelling in for the party

For teams coming from outside Bournemouth, or a company bringing staff from several offices, Flexiestays' apartments on the West Cliff are about ten minutes on foot from the Square. Self check-in means a late return after the lodge is not a problem. Companies can book through corporate housing in Bournemouth, and booking direct on flexiestays.com costs less than the big platforms.

Frequently asked questions

The organisers list tables for 6 to 10 people and private hire for 50 to 100. Groups of more than 100 are by discussion with the organisers.

The organisers list options rather than a fixed package, among them photo booths, private space, steins, mulled wine, beer towers, a souvenir market mug, food from the traders and what they call guaranteed snowfall. Ask the organisers which options come with which booking.

The organisers have not published a deadline. Friday and Saturday evenings in December are likely to be the most sought after, so an office booking for those dates is safest made as soon as the date is agreed.
