How it is run
Not a drop-in: the weekend is split into separate ticketed sessions, usually an afternoon and an evening on each day, and you book the slot rather than the day. Standing tickets and reserved bench tables are priced differently, and the popular slots go well before the weekend itself.
Sessions are run as an adults-only beer hall, so expect an 18-plus policy and bring photo ID. Bavarian food runs through the session alongside the steins: bratwurst, pretzels, schnitzel-style plates. Lederhosen and dirndls are worn by a good share of the room and by nobody who does not want to be.
Two Oktoberfests, one autumn
Bournemouth has two in 2026 and they are separate events. This one is in the town centre across 16 to 18 October. Bournevaria Oktoberfest takes the Windsor Hall at the BIC on 26 and 27 September. The format is much the same at both, so the question is which weekend suits.
